Northampton County Economic Development Partners with Community Senior Enhancement Program
Written by: wildfire
August 2025—Northampton County’s Economic Development team recently partnered with the Community Senior Enhancement Program to provide renovation funding for their center’s building rehabilitation through Northampton County’s Economic Development Non-Profit Grant Program. The program center, located at 8900 Hwy 35 in Severn, NC, aims to enhance the health, wellness, and lives of senior citizens by providing services such as outreach to the sick and shut-ins through home visits and errand support, organizing field trips, cultivating an on-site community garden to provide fresh vegetables, and hosting other on-site social activities for the good of the county.
Economic Development Director Derrick Bennet said, “The Community Senior Enhancement Program is a shining example of what public service is. They do so much for an often overlooked or forgotten group, and being able to help support their efforts to rehabilitate their center so that their good works can continue.” According to Bennett, economic development is about enhancing the lives of citizens. “The CSEP team are leading the charge on that front.”
