March 2026—Congressman Don Davis (D-NC, District 1) recently visited the Town of Garysburg to present Northampton County with a $1,092,000 Community Project Grant. These federal funds will be used for wastewater infrastructure rehabilitation in the Town of Garysburg. The project was spearheaded in partnership with Northampton County’s Economic Development Team, Northampton County Public Works and the Town of Garysburg Leadership Team.

Congressman Davis said, “Garysburg’s wastewater system threatened backflows, contamination, and affordability. Seeing this need, I was glad to deliver $1,092,000 to help rehabilitate the town’s aging wastewater infrastructure, ensuring the residents of Garysburg receive the safe, reliable services they deserve.”

Economic Development Director, Derrick Bennett, added, “We’re working diligently to attract more businesses and families to the community. But our efforts are for naught if our infrastructure can’t support the growth. These upgrades will improve service to current residents and position us for future advancement.”
